Thank you much for these insights, it’s definitely going to take a bit of experimenting to get everything figured out. I’ll be referencing this comment for a while.

Does that tell you what you need?
I’m more of a concert guy but I have some more AV work coming up. I definitely need wireless workbench and a media player, but also a Qlab equivalent (I guess obs could still work?) and whatever else you think I need as a 25y pro. What limitations do you see or experience as a Linux user?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why does it feel like there is currently less new games, songs, YouTube videos, valuable articles and creations in general?
1·1 month agoI think both things can be true. Maybe before it was 90% posting to legacy platforms and now it’s dropped to 70%
Just theorizing though

4·1 month agoI think part of it is people leaving the biggest platforms, making everything more decentralized but still on proprietary servers so no federation. That and it’s tough out there right now.

21·1 month agoThis feels right but I’m very curious what’s going to replace it. And no, it’s not bidets. I have one that I use and it helps, but I still need TP to finish up, and not just to dry yourself off.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a useful or interesting product under $100 that you wouldn’t normally think to buy?

Our nature isn’t greed, that’s just what capitalism demands. Our nature is cooperation, otherwise we never would’ve created society in the first place.
- That’s why I included the word “fundamentally”, because uncorrupted capitalism still rewards greed. Actually moreso than regulated capitalism, but I don’t think that has worked either.
2a. Greed isn’t just wanting good for yourself, it’s wanting more than what is reasonable. It’s unquenchable and it’s destructive to whatever stands in its way. That’s why capitalism and colonialism go hand in hand.
2b. I would rather someone makes a product because he followed her passion, and then shared it with everyone because he thinks it would benefit others. Capitalism isn’t going to bring us into that world, it’s going to encourage to exploit it and degrade it to make a bigger profit.
Just because you disagree with people here doesn’t mean they’re being irrational.
Capitalism is bad because it fundamentally rewards greed. I think we can do better than that
Wait, what are you asking for? You agree with wanting capitalism to end but you also don’t want communism? What does that leave? Or is it just the “state” part? Are you an anarchist and anti socialist? Or are you actually fuedalist?
