Yeah that makes sense given the language. So it’ll be a fatter binary than typical for what’s needed.

I heard Java can compile down to native binaries now. I interviewed someone that told me, I haven’t written a line of Java in 15 years.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you do it in the psych ward what should it be called?
51·6 days agoI’ve been in a mental institution but not a psych ward … it’s highly discouraged “hooking” up and they check in on us often. There’s in and out patients but inpatients … like I was checked up on quite often.
However, I’m trying to the of puns on Zoloft, Bipolar, Depression, Looney Bin, Group Therapy, Nut House…
- Smile High Club?
- Deepression
- A little 1-on-1?
- In and Out Patients?
- Earning A Sponsorship?
Okay, I had a long day at work, I’ll try again tomorrow.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was the last live theater performance that you saw?
3·10 days agoHercules in London. Found out my mate paid like £200 per ticket because it was their debut. It was great but definitely not worth it.
The one before that was My Neighbor Totoro and I really enjoyed that. I never saw the anime and the live performance was so magical to me.

It’s more than that for me. I typically hate doing repetitive tasks but I love automating them and seeing my scripts or apps run or just checking a dashboard feels better.

5·29 days agoWait what? … fucking hell man. I think there’s levels to me no longer watching an artist’s work …
Some, I just overlook or if the stories aren’t substantiated or major. Child porn is just something else … man, I really like Kenshin too.
This happened with my friend who booked a ski trip. They told him he had to cancel this trip. He went anyways and handed in his resignation.
Then they had to hire him as a contractor at a really high rate. True geniuses there.

Yeah for Balatro, some cards you can unlock will just simply make runs easier. Balatro can also probably be more luck-based than Slay the Spire. Your “luck” gets better with more experience because you can get used to the bosses and anticipate obviously and then you can change your deck to adapt. It’s a balance between your economy and then maxing out the “blue” (fixed upgrades) and “red” (additions plus multipliers) … for the red on the higher difficulties you have to be “luckier” earlier to beat the bosses.
For Slay the Spire, I’m honestly not sure what I’m doing? I always start to feel as though I’m doing well and I move to the next ascension and I lose immediately 🤣 I don’t think I’ve past 4. Maybe I should read a guide :D
For Balatro, depending on the difficulty … some draws are just unwinnable. You just gotta try again. You will pick up patterns or ways of winning eventually. But if it’s not for you, there’s no need to push yourself.
What’s funny is that I just can’t seem to beat Slay the Spire. I should try getting back into it 😂

5·1 month agoI think the point of the draft “thought experiment” they were proposing was to stop people from starting these wars and conflicts if they had a personal stake in it.
There’s this NPR episode I heard where they said that the codes to the nuke should be in someone’s heart and that person carries a suitcase with a knife. To get the nuke, the president should plunge the knife into that man to do it. It’s absolutely horrific and bloody but to kill many from afar you should at least be able to do one up close. I think that the person that recommended it said he’d be the first volunteer and would love that job. He’d make best friends with the president and get to know their kids, just to make the decision absolutely impossible.
I’d like to think that’s what they were getting at? Your response to the thought experiment seemed confusing at first but I think what you’re getting is that they’d just send the kids to safe areas of the war, rather than anything real anyways, right? which makes sense … politicians would weasel to get their own skin out. I’m not 100% sure why that’d lead to a draft? Do you mean in retribution they’d take it out on others and protect their own?
Anywho, from another Canadian. ✌️

My friends love them. It’s more like a laptop than a tablet and they love using the touchscreen as apart of their PC experience. Battery life needs work, at least the Intel ones that they were using.
I have yet to convert them to Linux. I’m working on it though.
