*I suppose foraging would be another way, but it’s so minuscule that I hesitate to make it its own category.
I personally don’t hate the fishing mini-game, so I think that could be fun. I think farming has the bigger potential, though, so if I was wanting to make a lot of money, I’d probably pick farming.
Farming.
It’s the only one of the three I do primarily to make money in the first place.
I fish mostly to fill out bundles, to potentially fish up some treasure, and a bit for cooking/gifts - I generally only sell fish to get them out of my inventory if I don’t need them for anything else. And I mine mostly to get ore for bundles and upgrades, to kill monsters, to find treasures and to get the rewards for reaching deeper levels, and I generally don’t sell ore at all - I just stash it.
I mostly feel the same way about mining - it’s almost entirely a means to grind resources for me, which I never sell. But I do wonder if it could be sustainable to use it as the primary source of money. Maybe we’re missing out.
I started wondering the same thing actually, as I was writing out that response.
I don’t think it can be as efficient as farming though. Even early on you can get great profits out of things like Cranberries and Blueberries, and once you start getting into Starfruit or Ancient Fruit, nothing compares.
It could be worth a try though, for novelty’s sake if nothing else.
