- windows 12? year of the linux desktop?
- Windows NEVER meant freedom. - Noped out right away. - Not the video for those of us who have been around for long enough to remember all the shit MS pulled trying to kill Linux off. - You didn’t fully watch the video, they mention linux numerous times. - Correct, I did not watch the video because the first premise the video offered is untrue. I don’t mean to poo-poo you sharing Linux stuff, and if this video gets more people onto Linux, great. - But like I said, it is not for those of us who have been here for a very long time screaming about how important it is to control your OS if you want to own your computer.

- Wdym death of windows, is this another of those clickbait vids?
- Start’s off with “Windoes used to mean freedom”. Yep I noped out. This person doesn’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. - Context is important. And freedom is not binary. - Did you still have to type an activation key to install? - …install what? When? - Use your words. - I did. Did you not select-hover the alternate text I made? The hyperlink is a bonus.
Unless you’re trying to gaslight Microsoft’s business model wasn’t Product keys.- Did you not select-hover the alternate text I made? - I’ve no idea how to do that. - Microsoft’s business model wasn’t Product keys. - I still have no idea what your point is…

- .ml and immediately running from an opinion that slightly differs from their’s, with pseudo-intellectual elitism thrown in. - Good meme
- They were talking about windows xp… - The history of Microsoft creating backdoors in windows predates XP. While Windows XP is most certainly not as evil as Win10, it certainly never meant “freedom”. Nor did 95, NT or even 3.1. Other than the backdoors, windows has always been closed source. Nothing free about it. - The fact that the youtube person assumed the opposite strongly affects her credibility. Windows backdoors have been a common topic since the 90’s.
