On July 29, 2024, Xbox will stop supporting the ability to purchase new games, DLC, and other entertainment content from the Xbox 360 Store on the console and the Xbox 360 Marketplace. This change will not affect your ability to play Xbox 360 games or DLC you have already purchased.

I can’t imagine the PS3 will last much longer than this. Truly the end of an era. :(

    Once again begs the question why Nintendo shuts their stores down far sooner and makes it so you can’t re-download your old purchases, other than greed/laziness.

        You can redownload your purchases on discontinued Nintendo platforms.

        You know, I thought you couldn’t on the Wii anymore, but apparently you can…? It’s unclear to me but seems I may have been mistaken when I said you can’t. TIL.

          It’s quite a common misconception. The Wii Shop channel still works for downloading previously purchases titles for example.

    Important to note, this doesn’t affect online multiplayer or availability on newer consoles, eg you’ll continue to be able to buy, download and play 360 titles on Xbox One / Xbox Series.
