Yeah, I feel like it’s heavily skewed towards the beginning of life, but tbf I feel like the cool things you do later in life are harder to quantify? Could add things like:
- I’m trying to think of how to quantify a “Have 0 debt” option but like, post mortgage or something.
- Establish a friend group
- Hang out with at least one member of that friend group for 5 / 10 / 15 years
- Go to an interesting location as part of your job (conventions count)
- See a historical human-made artifact in person
- See a legitimate dinosaur bone in person (not cast)
- Visit your country’s capital
- Create a piece of art and enter it into something that has it be viewed by people outside your family / friends

11·9 months agoI don’t think you understand what rural means. There were people who had to travel 1 hr+ by car to get to the local grocery store where I came from. An ebike isn’t appropriate for places where you may need to travel 60+ miles, and/or in snow or bad conditions that might persist for weeks, and/or in ungodly hot / humid conditions that also persist for weeks. All three of those are true for decent swaths of the year in my area.

2·10 months agoUbuntu was always the answer I gave, but it feels like they’ve fallen out of favor with the whole snap debacle.
Yeah…this is going to be a super unpopular opinion, but there needs to be a designated distro for new users who aren’t sure what to go with. If someone asks “What distro should I-” the rest doesn’t matter. We just agree on one distro and that’s it. Once they have a reason to look for another distro, they’ll have the knowledge to find it themselves.
You have to make the first step easy.

Saying “Eh this is just par for the course all countries are like this” feels like it minimalizes the problem.
Another article specified that they were literally found stabbed to death. How the fuck is there not foul play involved? Sounds like the AG is in on it or at least permissive of anti-LGBTQ+ violence.

Yeah, TCL was the front-runner when I was looking for a non-smart TV until I saw that. :( I ended up just going with a samsung and hoping for the best. I’ve not noticed anything annoying, but we’re probably going to switch back to a PC hooked up to the TV with all the subscription problems / price jacking lately.
