Well said. This is a very complicated subject that people always try to simplify down to a current issue at hand. There’s never a true “right” answer, and isn’t one that leaves all parties without some suffering.

If the html file is on the users device and they overwrite it, via an ad blocker, that is in their rights as the property owner of the machine.

Seems like sites need to get creative in new ways to force ads, which I’m sure will be a different kind of intrusive, instead of trying to push their ownership into the space of the users systems.

My new favorite is looking for a pulse. Some movie I watched recently panned to the dead guy, clear pulse on neck, but checks pulse says no pulse he’s dead then it cuts back to him with his jugular still pulsing. Pretty funny to see
