I’d say Tolkien is a bit inconsistent in how he portrays elves. In The Hobbit, they are more like frolicking, dancing and singing pixies and in LotR they are more ethereal and aloof like fey.
Jackson chose to stick to the fey aspect.
It’s relentlessly bleak and cruel but fun and entertaining at the same time (at least the first one).
It’s also really not all that hard once you figure out what’s most important to grow the city.
CITIZEN! DO NOT BE ALARMED! YOU WILL FEEL A SMALL TICKLING SENSATION AND THEN DEATH!
From three day special operation to forever war, from world power to laughing stock.
I know what you mean, but it’s not an allergy but the lack of a gene to metabolize alcohol properly. So it’s more comparable to lactose intolerance (which over 70 percent of Asians also have).
And unlike cannabis use (as far as I’m aware), alcoholism is actually a real problem in Japan, because drinking alcohol is not only socially acceptable but downright enforced.
That’s because a whole lot less cops and soldiers are environmentalists.
And my axe!
It completely looks like those fake College Humor or SNL trailers. You know, like this? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UiIRlg4Xr5w
Yeah, here in Germany, most politicians don’t really like to engage with digital topics at all and flat out refuse to use the internet. Which explains why my country has the worst internet in Western Europe by far.
The characters look absolutely boring design-wise too, with muted colors for some reason, giving off strong “We have Guardians of the Galaxy at home” vibes. In a hero shooter.
“Clearly, the game would have worked if the characters would have looked like monkeys!”
Hollyhock? More like Hollyfuck, amiright?! (I’m so sorry.)
Gothic had NPC pathfinding and behavior routines before Bethesda did it with Morrowind (and Gothic did it better).
I mean, technically everything from TNG onwards would be NuTrek and Kelvin-stuff would be NuNuTrek, or rather Re-Trek, since it’s a reboot.
Yep, and it was actually made over a long time, whenever the actors were between projects and a few days of shooting playing something different sounded nice. Also, each famous actor was used to goad the next. (Specifically, the Hugh Jackman-Kate Winslet segment which was shot first.) And the segments themselves were also directed by stars like Bob Odenkirk or Elizabeth Banks.
He based Mordor on the heavily industrialized north of England and the shire on the idyllic south (Kent, where he grew up). So the ecological themes of the books are very much based on the times Tolkien lived in, consciously or subconsciously.
He’s also related to Ian Fleming and was likely one of the inspirations for James Bond.
It’s literally Elrond in The Hobbit as far as I recall.
