I saw a comment the other day where they (Flying Squid) claimed to be in their 40s. Idk about mental health issues, but they are incredibly hostile/argumentative in comments.

Rise of Nations soundtrack is fantastic sandis the only “video game music” that I semi-regularly listen to.

Connect for Lemmy on my Android phone has worked great! The interface is almost, but not quite, 1:1 with RIF.

It was pretty buggy at launch, but here we are about a year out, and I’m not sure if I remember the what/when the last bug I encountered was. That is to say, the devs for connect are on top of stuff with regular updates which is nice.

That’s right! It’s close to being a whole food, but it’s just a bit off.

I’ve only made it to season 2, so I’m holding out hope that it gets better, but lazily progressive seems to describe it pretty well.

The one that really rubs me rough it how Tilly is very clearly coded to be some type of neuro divergent, probably autistic, but also only when it is convenient and quirky and will not interfere with the plot too much.

Her suddenly being very socially adept when the plot needed her to pretend to be an evil commander or whatever, and she dropped all of her character flaws to make it happen just felt so out of character and lazy.

Also the scenes with Spock and “child abuse bad” at the start of the red angel arc was very ham fisted.

I much preferred how SNW handled the “our wonderful society is supported by horrible child labor and death” arc. Still about as subtle as a brick, but it at least felt like an attempt was made to encode a message, and not just saying it at the viewer like a pre-school cartoon recapping the message of the episode.

My great grandfather was aboard the USS Missouri when the Japanese came aboard to surrender. He always said that it was one of the biggest moments of his life, and he always regretted that he didn’t have a camera during that visit. I think that I would like to go back in time to that event, and bring a camera with me.

The Ring, age 8 or 9, did me in as well. The bathtub scene is also the one that messed with my head the most.

Even more so, I didn’t even disagree or say that they were wrong. Just that I’d prefer not to do that because, along with my grandmother not suffering, I also want her to be alive. IANAL either, but I’m pretty sure you are correct. I put it in another comment somewhere, but I’m more upset about not being given a choice to refuse the change rather than the actual change itself. I don’t mind signing the waiver at amusement parks, or to buy a car with no warranty. I just want to know what I’m agreeing to, and I don’t like folks pulling the rug out from under me or changing the deal.

The situation feels like if I were to drop out of college, I would be given electroshocks until I’d forgotten anything learned in class.

How on earth is saying “I would prefer not to do something” being unreasonable with people?
