That should be enough to worry anybody.
That should be enough to worry anybody.
Or if you’re someone who uses speech to text on your phone. Nearly every system that I’ve ever used asterisks out everything after the first letter. It can be a lot of extra effort to go back and fill the fucks in. But if there’s one fucking thing worth doing fucking right. Fucking filling out those fat fucking fucks is fucking it. It’s one of the most fucking versatile words on the planet. It can be a fucking adjective, one of the most versatile verbs no matter what fucked up tense you choose, and even a motherfucking noun.
Yes the show itself outside some very visible totems like the car unfortunately, didn’t really touch on issues of bigotry and racism. Had it just been about a back woods moonshining family in an unmarked car harassing the corrupt governor and police. There wouldn’t be a lot of uproar. Hell it might be embraced.
They really should have gone that last extra mile and painted flames on it and called it the General Sherman.
You might wanna check with siri on that. Apple regularly failed at that even under the leadership of Jobs. And Tim Cook is no Steve Jobs. It’s already looking like it’s going to be just standard remote chat GPT. Hallucinations and all.
So that’s why she was running up that hill.
You can do it easily if you aren’t running full HD or something heavy. Enlightenment runs great on my Pi B and 2 B.
It’s a well-defined term. But it’s one not really discussed much or talked about in america. And largely used in propaganda when it is used. Which is only aided by people not understanding and knowing the definition.
Liberal is basically a shortening of economic liberal. Think founding fathers, Adam smith, invisible hand circle jerk off the economy. Free markets yada yada yada. Basically that is what liberal means in the rest of the world. And still means in the United States even though it’s misused heavily. You might also comment to yourself that that sounds an awful lot like people who call themselves libertarian. Which is because they are not libertarian they are economic liberals. They’re just masquerading.
In the early 20th century, the glaring problems with economic liberalism we’re becoming impossible to ignore. Robber barons exploiting labor en mass and running roughshod over government. It was pretty blatantly apparent to most people what economic liberalism always was. It wasn’t about free markets for everyone. You can ask Black Wall Street about that. And it wasn’t about creating free societies for everyone. You can ask Black Wall Street about that. It was clear that they needed to abandon the hands off social policy of economic liberalism and apply pressure socially to achieve better outcomes. Which the market abhorred. And post world war II the violent oppressive Leninist/Stalinist/Maoist revolutions combined with fascistic rhetoric convinced them that capitalism was still the only answer. But hands on capitalism.
Enter neoliberals. Republicans and Democrats both are neo-liberals. Their current stances decided by who passed the civil rights act. Democrats solidified themselves as the party of limited social assistance. Republicans taking the opposite stance socially. No longer just socially “neutral” in pursuit of free markets and non wasps to exploit. They became punitive and actively socially oppressive.
And no Democrats are in no way socialist. Work requirements are antisocialist. Little poison pills that Democrats and Republicans both have worked into every single social assistance program ever implemented in the United States. As a mechanism to keep control and power over labor. Leaving them distinctly vulnerable and easily exploitable as father for the factories and businesses of wealthy capitalists. If an unemployed person had social protections and guarantees. Capitalists have no leverage over them. They could be discerning about what jobs they worked and what jobs they didn’t. Without having the fear of starvation and death hung over them. And that doesn’t work for capitalists.
You aren’t wrong about the aur. Similar could be said about flat packs snaps Etc however. We should always audit our systems regularly.
That said, Manjaro is different enough that even enabling the Aur is a bad idea. I know from experience as I’ve done several reinstalls Etc. Because of Manjaro issues with the aur. They really shouldn’t even ship access to it. Because Manjaro does so many Breaking changes. It’s one of many bad decisions on the part of Manjaros maintainers. Ubuntu may be Debian and based. But it’s not Debian. Manjaro is the same.
The rest of them basically are Arch just with a few tweaks, themes, base install, and installer.
Arch like/lite? Sure. But without the ability to use the Aur safely you’re missing nearly half or more of what Arch has to offer. I’ve waited a long time for a really good Linux distribution that had an easier usage curve than Gentoo while having a semi decent portage/ports system like the BSD do.
It can still definitely work for a quick and easy Linux gaming system. If your priority is Steam and Nvidia Graphics drivers installed no fuss. Then again so can nobara or the steamos variants.
I’m not going to lie or hate though. I absolutely ran manjaro first before moving on to proper Arch. It was just easy and painless until it got to things like ports and the Aur.
Controversial take, endeavor is Arch. Just without the major hurdles. I installed Gentoo once. I learned a lot. Things like, I never want to do that again. It was cool and all. But I’m good with click, install, and get on with my life. I do however like rolling releases and not having to wait years to have less outdated versions. Though to some extent flat paks are slowly alleviating that.
Also for some reason the image gives me serious Sam vibes.
Only to people who don’t understand the difference.
They’re still tracking and harassing Chinese expats that were involved with Tienanmen. Expats as in left the country. Even in the US and UK. It’s not out of the question.
Wow I’m surprised you even admitted your dishonesty. Leninists usually don’t do that ever. They’ll die on the hill they’d made for themselves rather than adjust their beliefs or admit fault.
You could have just said that without making shit up and being dishonest. I know the reason you didn’t. But you could have done that. The reason you didn’t though. You did not give any evidence. You cited two correlations and called it a causation of a separate 3rd thing with no evidence. There is as much evidence to support my statement as there is the support yours. Make of that what you will. But don’t go trying to convince anyone that you have any facts or evidence LOL.
Over the last century the United States has pushed a lot of propaganda at home and abroad that is a fact and I never disputed it. They aren’t alone on that either. I just think it’s hilarious that people think that just automatically translates into the online space. They’ve been shit at it. And on their back foot the whole time. The internet has poked more holes in it than everything before it. And they are far more vulnerable to foreign misinformation themselves then their modern contemporaries.
The idea that the US gov’t doesn’t propagandize the US people is just so laughably and observably false.
I never said they didn’t. But thank you for showing that you’re not here in good faith and are just being disingenuous. It lets us all know not to bother talking to you.
I’m not denying that all countries do it including the United states. What I’m simply pointing out is the absurdity of the claim that the United States and their military are even very prevalent let alone effective at it these days on line.
There are much better/ safer ways of keeping the population divided without turning them into acolytes of a foreign adversary.
Combine that with the fact that China and Russia are even bigger Echo Chambers than the United Statesever was. The fact there was even debate about Banning Tick Tock no matter how stupid the decision in the end was. Just proves it.
Whatever influence operation they’re pushing domestically will largely be through TV and radio. Anything they do over the internet is going to meet far higher diminishing returns and require far more effort. They are absolutely still doing it. But they’re spending much more time defending against it than employing it themselves.
But they do it for a reason. For a purpose. Not just for funsies. I don’t see how them spreading misinformation weakening themselves is a logical goal. This is what you are arguing for. You need to support this. And the quote you just quoted does not
No. But thak you for the contribution of your strawman. You gonna try to actually respond to anything I said? Or just going to continue to damage your position?
I’d say it’s unpopular because we have a lot of evidence to the contrary. We know for a fact that a large amount of traffic on Twitter and other social media sites are bots. We know for a fact that many political actors are paid. The problem is the people complaining about it most tend to be the ones who use them the most. Casting aspersions against those who don’t. All in an effort to confuse and muddy the waters so no one questions their use.
The same for fake news. People crying about the most are the ones who put out the most. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Even if the accusations are often false
Realistically any group would be foolish not to take advantage of something like Bots or AI to help Drive their message. Even if it’s true.
We should just never take anyone screaming accusations at face value though.
From the founding of the ideology through at least the first 100 years it kind of did. I think the basic fact that the man who coined the phrase and founded the ideology. Fought against the kind of people who pretend to be libertarian today. He literally participated in the French revolution. And we have economic liberals today making up thought terminating cliches and tripe like the non-aggression principle to protect wealthy thieves. Calling themselves right wing Libertarians it’s a joke.
