Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something that's free that everyone should know about?
22·1 year agoYou think so yet I provide accommodation for dozens of people. If I stop they are homeless because no one will rent them for my price. If there is a mold outbreak they get cancer. If someone comes with bugs I need to handle the bugs. If something breaks I need to repair it.
If someone is drunk and on drugs I need to kick them out so the rest of people are okay
It’s not some kind of passive income lol
There are various activities slightly less profitable for less work but I enjoy providing this service. Also I like renovation and interior design. It’s a real art to make interiors the most appealing with least amount of money.

115·1 year agoSounds like fake news to me. I don’t do that for example. I don’t know many People of Land beside myself but I rather treat it as a beneficial service to the community that I happen to be able to support myself from.

37·1 year agoOn the contrary. I provide value of upkeep and managing the estate I rent. Without me people wouldn’t have place to live because they cannot afford to purchase the land.
Thanks to me countless people are able to have a roof under their heads.

1·1 year agoYeah well I got dragged into keyboard warfare and I make a point to never continue it. This is first mistake of internet. When you see someone being wrong emotionally do not involve yourself. Just spectate
It’s a good chance they are trolling at your expense (and in this situation have some agenda), no need to give them what they yearn for.

Look at this person I reply to talking something about entitlement misunderstanding everything as much as you can. This is routine
Of course this can be a bad actor in this example but there are so many of these misunderstandings in various contexts that it is painful to read the comments a lot of times

14·1 year agoI manage to get people on the web just fine somehow.
Yet still I must observe other people misunderstanding each other and painfully not getting it every second browsed comment. This problem doesn’t exist in some places on the web that are less civilised and less safe spacey for some reason.
I mean I wouldn’t say they are smarter but in this single aspect maybe they are. It’s painful to say that some 9gag or worse users are more verbally apt
I am not going to hang out in such places. Maybe tumblr if anything. It is pretty witty. Not much text but overall tumblr users seem smooth
