When it’s bad you think “Fuck this, I can do it better by myself.”
Godnroc@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you had an irl evil lair or HQ, what would the elevator or dungeon music be? ¡Explain urself!English4·24 days agoI’m torn between silence and something really happy and upbeat like PonPonPon.
The silence forces then to face their own inner demons, but the upbeat music will ruin their badass aesthetic.

For me, I thought it would be interesting to remove the existing stereo and mount everything it the double-DIN hole left behind. That would give you access to power, ignition, and speaker wires easily. You would need to do some rewiring between cars, but it would be the most practical spot.
From working on some fleet vehicles before, I’ve seen interesting systems where all of the accessories were on their own battery that only charged when the car was running or off an external charging cord that could be connected if it was going to sit for a while.
The benefit of a separate power system was that the equipment didn’t need to boot up every time you started the car. Maybe the display and anything else could be powered only when running, but if the main computer was always powered that would save time. It could also get a signal from a battery maintainer that the accessory battery is low and perform a graceful shutdown.

Then I was driving and tried to play a specific song, but the Assistant couldn’t get further than dumping me into YouTube Music and hiding my navigation.
So anyways, I just uninstalled Assistant and after failing to find something else I came to Lemmy and saw this.
Hang on, you’re speaking the wrong language here and need to use wasted time words instead.
“Through our mutually agreed arrangement we can accomplish the organizational goals within satisfactory requirements while being cognizant of profits and budgetary availabilities.”

Maybe it’s the 250+ audiobooks I have influencing me, but the very best ones I’ve listened to transcend just turning words into sound. Sound effects, music, tone, emotion, accents, sarcasm, and god damn BLOOPERS all improve the experience beyond just hearing what is written down.
I’m against it, fuck that literal noise.
Does that also remove the need to poop and piss?
You have January 1, 1970 regret?

Assuming I’m the same person I am today, then I would probably want to know more. “Dangerous” isn’t a cause it’s an effect; I want to know why it’s dangerous. Then I want to know what can be done to change that.
I need a dramatic close up on a bystander who gasps in surprise before announcing “She’s not even blowing into it!” followed by the close up of the shooter saying “That’s right, I have gone BEYOND the need to blow into my instrument of destruction!”

I recall the moment where everyone was sitting around and not doing anything because they were waiting for the commercials to finish. It felt like watching actors drop their characters the moment they step out of the spotlight.
Do you think you can throw this knife into the target?
I can handle it.
Godnroc@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does anyone else get so tired and depressed from saying you're good when people ask how you are?English5·5 months ago“Another day in paradise.” “We’re going alright.” “Looking forward to [Quitting time/the weekend/heading home]” “Nothing worth complaining about.”
Godnroc@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How many eggs do you eat in a week?English11·5 months agoYou know, if you spent your entire life living underground and never saw the sky, you’d never worry about silly little things like asteroids crashing into the planet and killing everyone.
It doesn’t mean you’ll survive any better, you just get to die ignorant.
Godnroc@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What app is so useless, you can't believe it costs money?English13·5 months agoOh fuck yeah! So much of my research into new tools is just checking to see if they have a demo, documentation, and price.
When I’m looking for a new tool, I don’t have the time to schedule a “quick” 20 minute call to do introductions and schedule a follow-up hour long meeting followed by a quote sent over in an email days later only to find out the price is so far outside the range there is no way it’s ever going to happen!
I’m not some useless middle manager looking for any excuse to look busy; I don’t have that kind of time to waste!
I already do this on occasion, there is usually just several inches of snow on the ground when I do.
