Given the context that we were talking about laptop chargers rather than generic power bricks, I think it’s fair to consider standard laptop power supplies. (HP has the same connectors even though their protocol is different, and I’m not familiar with other brands but I expect they are much the same).
Unfortunately, barrel plugs tell you zilch about the power supply they’re connected to. They’re a dumb connector with no data capability whatsoever, and I’ve seen the same size of plug on power supplies with output anywhere from 3V to 24V.
That’s definitely not true: Dell laptop chargers and desktop power supplies do communicate what wattage they are able to supply.

Also good luck with firmware updates, since most of them are extremely inconvenient to install with Linux, and also few vendors actually update their firmware any more than they need to.

Dumb phone has no software features (e.g. Nokia 5110 or so — unless you count the snake game), feature phone has software features but limited to the ones that come with the phone (rarely installable at all), smart phone has actual software aka “apps”
The point where it becomes a general-purpose computing device, I think. Programmability is generally what makes it “smart”, i.e. not having the limitation of predefined “features” which make it a feature phone.
I’ll say I’m correct on a technicality. 2006 is not “long before smartphones” only a year or so. The N73 is a sort of proto-smartphone, even if the term wasn’t in use yet.

The joke isn’t racist itself, exactly. It’s a self-deprecating joke to pretend that the joke-teller is racist, because they immediately jump to the racist meaning as their default understanding.
It falls flat when the audience doesn’t realize that the word can be a racist slur.

As someone who uses Windows for work and Linux for pleasure: one of the cons of Linux is the lack of integrated ubiquitous file sharing via SMB and UNC paths. Being able to “cd \\server\c$” and expect that to work with 99% of programs made in the last two decades, is pretty great.
“Hardcode a few pre-selected paths and their credentials in /etc/fstab” just doesn’t cut it. Neither does autofs.
Not OP, but I always click below to page down. I hate scroll bars that jump directly to the destination because it’s always a guessing game as to how far the page will move. Short page? You moved half a line. Long page? Every pixel is 5 pages.
