    That is the joke, pretending to misconstrue the intended use of the word slant meaning bias as if it had been intended as a racial slur.

    The joke isn’t racist itself, exactly. It’s a self-deprecating joke to pretend that the joke-teller is racist, because they immediately jump to the racist meaning as their default understanding.

    It falls flat when the audience doesn’t realize that the word can be a racist slur.

    As someone who uses Windows for work and Linux for pleasure: one of the cons of Linux is the lack of integrated ubiquitous file sharing via SMB and UNC paths. Being able to “cd \\server\c$” and expect that to work with 99% of programs made in the last two decades, is pretty great.

    “Hardcode a few pre-selected paths and their credentials in /etc/fstab” just doesn’t cut it. Neither does autofs.
