3·1 month agoCan’t ague with that. You’re not wrong. I just liked to express my joy and a shout out to that incredible dev team behind GrapheneOS. That does not mean other roms are shit. Its just every other rom I tried over the years stoppt working at some point or the project silently died.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Operating System Political Compass - Updated version
11·1 month agoGrapheneOS currently supports only Google Pixel devices because they are the only Android smartphones that meet all of its strict security requirements: an unlockable bootloader, proper verified boot implementation, state of the art security chip, and long-term, reliable security updates. Most other manufacturers either don’t provide these features or disable critical security functions when an alternative OS is installed.
But what I find particularly impressive is how efficiently the team operates: with likely fewer than 15 full-time developers, they consistently roll out updates within days, sometimes even ahead of Google’s official Android releases. I think the system is very balanced, a lot of the hardening stuff works in the background without really breaking anything. I had some troubles with very specific apps but most of the time it just works.
That said, their communication style and transparency can sometimes come across as aggressive or uncompromising. Pioneers in FOSS projects often prioritize progress and principle over diplomacy, and GrapheneOS is no exception.

World News@lemmy.world•Spain's Pedro Sánchez hits back at Trump threat to sever trade saying 'no to war'English
29·2 months agoThis! Germany and france should stand by with spain instead of trying to not displease trump. if this does not happen, the whole vision of the EU is questionable. i dont understand why spain is the only country to take a clear stance against a unsanctioned war. you like to decide things without us? ok… then handle it without our ressources.

113·5 months agothe problem how i understood is, that we are not only talking about cash money but also money that is in businesses. family owned businesess may then be forced to sell their business to shareholder owned foreign corpos, because they could not afford it due to the tax. that sparked some major fear among voters. the result was not even close, it was 78% No! thats hughe and beyond any left/right worldview, not a single canton voted yes, that alone is a clear indicator that this bill was not very well-thought-out

so they can vote the next country into the shit?
