I genuinely believe most forms of advertising on the web are ableist because they try to make them as distracting as possible. Removing those ads is accessibility.

I don’t consider ads at the start and end of videos to be ableist, but they’re still annoying. Mid video ads, pause screen ads, and banner ads are all ableist.

Too late! That and requiring TPM and SecureBoot made me switch. I love it.

I took a class on Unix/Linux in college for Computer Science and cyber security absolutely is too.

It’s really easy to forget, but yes, Steam was annoying back in the day. I hated it so much I bought Borderlands 1 from somewhere else in protest. My friends bought it through Steam. The patch dropped and they got it, I didn’t, and I couldn’t play anymore. It finally came later, though. This pushed me to give it a second chance. Now it’s amazing. Apart from some gripes about the UI of Steam itself, there’s not really much to complain about.

Maybe about plugging in devices to charge when you’re done with them? Schools use laptops a lot now, but don’t think they’re communal ones on carts anymore.

What’s this mean?

It’s interesting, because I some ways I think it might not be as bad, because a lot of the problems Davis faced were trolls abusing him as a lolcow. But at the same time, people have literally killed themselves after being advised to by ChatGPT.

As a side note, I have seen at least one person (probably jokingly) vibe coding in HolyC on TikTok.

That’s sort of a weird projection. It’s a chore. Obviously people would prefer to minimize time spent doing chores and maximize time spent doing fun things. It’s really not that complicated for most people. Not saying you can’t enjoy going to the store, but ultimately what you’re doing is still finding a way to make it less of a chore. Spoonful of sugar, and all that, ya know?

There was talk about Google changing this, but I’m not sure if that was something that would only affect Pixel phones or all of Android as an ecosystem. Well, to be specific, the change is to not let people run unsigned APKs at all and devs can only get them signed by giving their identification to Google.

This is why “side load” is annoying to me. It’s installing. It is not special or different. They aren’t “blocking side loading” they’re “restricting what you can install.”
