The analogy I always liked was:
Success is like a carnival dart game.
If you’re poor you probably don’t even get a chance to play. Maybe once with some help from friends and family. But even then, the odds are still not good.
If you’re middle class you can afford a throw or two, significantly increasing the odds of success.
If you’re rich you can afford to throw as many darts as you want until you succeed.
Yup. First thing I noticed, too. Where’s my blankets? And by blankets I mean cheap unzipped sleeping bag I’ve been using as a blanket for years.
Is CyberNews’ data checker safe? Or is entering an email just confirming a valid email address to the breachers?
Depends on the art. High contrast imagery is generally considered developmentally important.
Eh, Christmas is next week. I’ll just figure out gifts then.

At least at the Faires I’ve worked at no one cares.
In fact, I have a second-hand anecdote that one faire staff has a screen accurate combadge inside their doublet. When they see people doing stuff like this, they run over and pull them aside. They would whip out the badge and get in their face. “Does the Prime Directive mean NOTHING to you?! This is an uncontacted pre-warp civilization. You are ruining YEARS of undercover research! Who is your captain? I’m going to have your court martialled if you don’t get under cover FAST.”
Or…hear me out… People don’t live in the damn desert and expect to have unlimited access to water.
forgettable
Hard disagree here. I have a deep, seething, hatred for this song that precludes forgetting that travesty.
I went through a brief period in college when I was taking a full load and working 30 hours a week. I needed to carefully plan my sleep schedule. I was taking sleeping pills to go to sleep right away and caffeine pills to get going, with coffee/soda throughout the day. Was it healthy? Absolutely not.
On the plus side, I developed a new drink at the cafe I was working at, The Opener; for those 5am shifts.
Exactly my first thought.
Where did you work? What kind of Boomer clients did you serve?
I worked fast food in '03, it was closer to 50/50.
