Hm. Gonna dig a bit into that
Hm. Gonna dig a bit into that

Well. Officially you can opt out from crawlers of any kind. Just need to put the right code in a .htaccess file (if this is still standard. I didn’t code any production ready since 15 years).
But I have my doubts about that…
Lemmy, Threads and Mastodon proved they just move to the next network.
Lots of people who are designing websites and webapps are just out for the design. Usability went in the background for whatever reason.
But more and more people are getting more aware of user friendly UI and functions for people with disabilities. But yet it’s not the highest priority sadly.
It’s simple solutions to simple problems. “There is no climate change, we will let you use fossil fuels” for example. Modern politics aren’t easy and the right wing is using that. These rubbish politicians are now accelerating and are actually the most dangerous group in Germany since the NSDAP back in the thirties.
Worse is that there is a media lobby supporting them. It’s as bad as fox news.
So people are unhappy with some recent situations, mostly because they don’t understand them - which is a problem generated by propaganda and false media.
If anything, they are against it. Doing propaganda is easy and they brought nothing to the democracy. They are open and outed Nazis.
Thing is… most that vote them, are the ones suffering if they ever make it to government as a leading party.
Definitely gone lower.
Yeah. I just know that forums aren’t a thing any more. Old fashioned browser games are rare.
Otherwise a lot of valuable news sites became clickbait ad bloated monsters. Only a few are still good.
But yeah… it gets easily overshadowed
Yup. Wikipedia is a good example for an instance that solely exists to support people.
There are plenty sites of this. Take a look at some websites that are teaching you skills without asking for money and so on.
That’s how I remember the internet. Sharing knowledge. Of course bigger sites need to make ends meet somehow and that fine with me. But as you already said - more more more.
Well. Those corporations took their money and threw it in. Basically fusions of different services. Besides that you have a lot of clickbaits and cheap stuff like dropshops and so on.
You gotta be very picky on what services you use. Lemmy f.e. is amazing for me. It does not feel like someone wants to get money off me.
The internet basically became what the analog world was before and it’s anything else than amazing.
Edit: in short terms: Capitalism took the internet from the people.
That makes sense. Interesting!
Absolutely.
Ofc they use the data to make money. But there are not so many rules set to it. It feels like governments slept in this area for the past 20 years and it’s ridiculous.
We’re so deep in its impossible to really resign from it anymore.
This. Its on a lot of languages like this. The less you understand, the better.
I believe if you completely new (like after deleting cookies) they will make you agree to the terms and agreements before you can use the service.
In what World justifies this an attack on another country? Thats dumb. Go back sleepin.
