Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Bitwarden's new CEO has a Private Equity background, removed 'Inclusion' and 'Always Free' from their website -- because of course he didEnglish
2·3 days agoKeeAnywhere
That’s a neat one, although it doesn’t look like KeePass supports passkeys yet, at least I don’t see it in the feature list.

3·3 days agoI switched over to keepass yesterday, and surprisingly the import from BW was perfect (as far as I can tell), even passkeys came over just fine.

1·3 days agoI ended up using Keepass2Android and just pointing it at my webdav server, it seems to work pretty well!
On desktop it’s already taken care of since I put the DB in my folders that already sync via Syncthing.

823·5 days agoKeePassXC + KeePassDX is probably the best option, with the downside of no way to sync easily (syncthing is probably the best option there)
I might switch back at some point, been getting frustrated with the bitwarden extension performance always being so poor.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Steam is basically a PC gaming monopoly, so why isn’t anyone mad?English
203·1 month agoI mean what, am I supposed to be ‘preemptively mad’ because they might become worse one day?
Like I don’t understand why I’m supposed to be mad, it’s a service that’s useful and good, maybe it won’t be one day but what am I going to do about that?

Games@lemmy.world•Does the engine a game uses factor into your decision to buy it or not?English
3·1 month agoI’m surprised about the satisfactory reference, that game never ran particularly well for me once I was a ways in with lots of stuff built up.

Games@lemmy.world•Does the engine a game uses factor into your decision to buy it or not?English
5·1 month agoIt has a huge impact for me, most notably unreal engine because of how poorly most games made with it run, and it visually looking very soft or blurry in some games. So it’s something I check before looking at buying a game.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Your phone is a snitch in your pocket, and the law won't save you. It's time to break the surveillance machine.English
3·1 month agoIf you have a need for high levels of privacy it’s the only way to do it, or just leave your phone at home.
It doesn’t really defeat the purpose of having a mobile phone either IMO, most stuff I do on my phone is already offline (maps, notes, taking photos, etc).

Technology@lemmy.world•Raspberry Pi gets eye-watering price rises, new 3GB RAM modelEnglish
1·1 month agoYeah a voltage regulator would be a bad idea, however a well designed DC-DC buck converter can be in the 95%+ efficiency range and produce very little heat.

1·1 month agoThe Pi can actually be higher in some cases in my experience.
I have a pair of passively cooled PCs with i3-7100u CPUs, RAM, and a single NVMe drive each, and they draw around 1-2W when idle.

111·1 month agoThe Pixel phones were the only devices with secure enough hardware to make GrapheneOS viable, that’s why they developed it for them.
It wasn’t because of some deal with google or anything like that.

4·1 month agoYes too up to date can be a downside for most, I want stability and just want my OS to be there and do its thing with a monthly or so update I run.

6·1 month agoUbuntu is not great due to Canonicals choices. However I do wonder if they have more enterprise/business install base.

For other websites, if I search for ‘passkey’ on the KeePass website feature list nothing comes up. Plugins in a password manager sketch me out a bit tbh lol
