The real joke was the pain that every developer feels when the end user gives such useful and actionable feed back as “It broke. Fix. Unga bunga.”

“It works on my machine” is trying to be polite when, after hours and hours of trying to teach a person how to report a bug with necessary information, all they ever get is “It broke. Fix. Unga bunga.”

In the end, there is this great fear of “the AI is going to fully replace us developers” and the reality is that while that may be a possibility one day, it wont be any day soon.

You still need people with deep technical knowledge to pilot the AI and drive it to an implemented solution.

AI isnt the end of the industry, it has just greatly sped up the industry.

Developing with ChatGPT feels bizzarely like when Tony Stark invented a new element with Jarvis’ assistance.

It’s a prolonged back and forth, and you need to point out the AIs mistakes and work through a ton of iterations to get something that is close enough that you can tweak it and use, but it’s SO much faster than trawling through Stack Overflow or hoping someone who knows more than you can answer a post for you.

Also, cant beat black olives on a pizza or Italian style (Italian sausage, meatball, cold cut) sub.

Kalamata have such a hearty umami, when I crave a Greek Salad, 90% of that is craving the Kalamatas. Castelvetrano are so buttery yet refreshing. Picholine (especially with Pomento) are such a satisfying tart salty savory fix.

I mean, if you don’t like em, you don’t like em and you can have that, but every flavor that I have ever disliked (Bananas, Brussels Sprouts, and Sushi are the big ones I remember for me) was just an invitation to “acquire the taste” and has become a flavor I savor.

I still struggle with caviar, but even still, every once in a while I just get hit with the craving.

Only food thing that I can think of that I haven’t tried in ages and I might still hate is black licorice.

I should get some black licorice and acquire that taste…
