Because hindsight is 20/20 and people had preconceptions back then that filled in the gaps, as they do right now.

The gaps are and were actually full of nonsense like “he’s my buddy I’ll give him money” but people expect the process to be a lot more reliable and solid, because they think they’d be more careful with that kind of money, not realising that to some millions are pocket change (and nobody is careful with pocket change) and that others gamble with other people’s money and thus are a lot more cavalier.

The fact that the scene wasn’t mocapped doesn’t mean it wasn’t in the game at all, or that they didn’t get someone else to mocap it instead.

If i had to guess it would be Little Hope. It is a horror interactive movie and the games by that team tend to be pretty edgy for a modern dev.

Eh, there’s plenty of time to do both and the games are absolutely worthy of a good thrashing.

I am annoyed at them because they show an utter disregard for the user’s time and money. I wanted to like them, and I was exceedingly disappointed in the product.

Are they? All I’ve seen is suspiciously defensive articles about BG3 comparisons not being fair (despite DA having the full might of EA and the >!soulless husk of the!< company that made BG1 and 2 at its helm) and shittons of astroturf and fluff pieces.

You are the first person who openly calls themselves a DA2 fan I run into in the wild.

I came into origins because it was in a branch I liked, so yeah, I have eaten well in the past and there’s more than enough for me to keep eating well for a good long time.

To me it’s mostly the obvious lack of care of DA2 towards the lore and even the internal consistency of the world and characters in that same game that made me acutely aware of the downfall of BioWare.

I’ve since moved on to other things. Mostly indie stuff, and stuff like BG3 which is much more in my general direction.

I’ll miss OG BioWare (Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 BioWare, to clarify) but I’ll live.

Dragon age as a franchise showed promise when it was an actual modern take on a CRPG.

Ever since DA2 it became worthless, casualized dreck gameplay attached to a story written by and for a very specific californian millennial crowd and, frankly, they can keep it.

Definitely do your best to help support her during that time. When my spouse went back to university a few years back, I made sure to give them space and try to do little things like bringing a drink, or a treat when they were studying, etc.

Oh for sure, we already agreed I’ll take over some chores to leave her some more free time to compensate for the study time, and I used to help her study when she was in highschool so I’ll just pull the old routines out of the attic lol.

Been together 17 years this year, we’re a good team 💪

Something interesting this year… My workplace agreed to adopt an automatic inflation adjustment and transparent pay scale, and my wife is going back to university to get out of the restaurant business.

On a certain level it’s healthy that people who have ideologies we disagree with are allowed to participate in discussions, on the other hand on lemmy tankies are an endemic threat because they themselves don’t accept or tolerate opposition, and openly abuse tolerance whenever it’s extended to them.

I suggested this elsewhere but I do think the liberal side of fediverse should build some sort of moderation compact to ensure that neutrality is maintained and that subverting an instance becomes at least harder, if not impossible.

It is when you win them, something Russia still has to figure out.

Why would you join an instance where the mods don’t align with your own preferences in terms of moderation?

If there were an instance where the mods were open nazis and banned any pro-LGBT posts, me being on that instance at the very least means I have no problem having to maintain that standard of conduct, if I don’t actively co-sign it.

Having one or two mods who are cunts is one thing, having a whole mod/admin team with an explicit political agenda and line to toe is not the same.

That’s a basic admissibility criteria, you are not allowed to just dump a pile of evidence onto the judge’s lap, you have to make a case for each item as to why they’re relevant to the case.

That said, the idea that the president acting in an official capacity wouldn’t be prosecutable for his behaviour is a scary thought in its own right.
