Who would have guessed that a social media platform owned by an apartheid-loving fascist would trend conservative?

The point of modern “customer service” is to NOT provide customer service. If you can drag out the conversation to the point where the caller rage-quits in frustration, then the company can avoid spending any money on fixing any problems they’ve caused.
I already ditched Windows for Linux a month ago because of spyware. Everything Google-related is next. My phone is going to be the hardest thing to de-infest.
Good. Flash storage is everywhere now. Why go through an extra layer of proprietary hardware and DRM when you can have direct access to the video files which can be read on any platform?
Are hyper-expensive running shoes STILL a thing? Damn, people need to grow up.
A good game will stand on its own merits. It will be complete and self-contained at launch. And any DLC released later will have been planned from the very start.
Endless updates is just another word for cosmetic micro-transactions and an excuse to make you keep the game online all the time.
Yup. Especially apps that are pushing the wonders of cloud services to share that data everywhere.
You’re probably going to be installing and changing a lot of stuff over the next few weeks. Make sure you use TimeShift to make system snapshots. (It works like System Restore in Windows).
You can even restore a system that won’t boot anymore, by booting from a Live usb stick, running TimeShift and choosing a snapshot off your hard drive.
I like “Traveler’s Rest” because the game doesn’t force you to keep regular hours at your tavern. If you want, you can spend the whole day crafting and restocking until you’re ready to deal with customers again.
Nothing like having a “Supreme Court” where you can yoink their funding if they don’t give you the ruling you want.
Stardew Valley has been out on Android for a while now.
I’m perfectly fine with storing media on flash drives. Optical disks just adds an unnecessary step between me and enjoying my movies.
If you hang out in the politics subs, you’re going to get political shills and bots with agendas. Either learn how to detect and avoid them or just don’t hang out in those subs.
Thanks to badly written software, you can literally design “planned obsolescence” into your products.
“The computer says you need to replace your 15,000 dollar battery pack.”
“But my car is only six months old!”
“Yeah, but the Computer SAYS-”
You can get laptops on Amazon now with Ubuntu pre-installed. :)
Also, make sure your password contains L’s, 1’s, 0’s and O’s in a font deliberately chosen to make them hard to tell apart.
“Free ad-supported” makes you no different than a hundred other garbage-tier streaming services.
Yup, the fine needs to be much higher. People could have died because of this.
The entire point of fines is that they’re punitive. They’re supposed to HURT. To make you change your behavior and not do the Bad Thing again.
If fines don’t even make a dent in your daily profits, then laws become nothing more than suggestions. They become just a cost of doing business.
This is probably connected to China cloning the entire GitHub website to their own servers.
As if I needed another reason to hate Microsoft.
