My favourite game off all time, Homeworld, got remastered years ago. Its fantastic follow-up, cataclysm could not be included in the renaster. The reason? Lost source code. No backups, studio got bought, diveded, merged, shut down and nobody thoight it prudent to safeguard that what they bought; the code and ip.

So i get where he’s coming from. On the other hand, once you start reading the ads with some content in between it becomes clear immediately that this is about the IP holder, not the game studio.

Just look at the numbers of the past year or so. If we believe them the Russian army is no more and has been defeated 6 months ago.

So, if i must believe this, those 13% left in Ukraine are very capable, very effective troops, able to move over that gigantic front in minutes, seconds even to fill the gaps. The question, the problem with crypto, is not how, it’s why?

For now, the only use case crypto has is wel… Betting. It’s hard to call it anything else like speculation.
You would be out of your mind to use it as a currency. The worth of crypto is too volatile. Even black market usage is problematic due to this. (did i just buy a pound of coke for 50k or 100k? Who knows? I guess we see tomorrow)
It also is too slow to use as a currency; the transaction times are off the charts compared to other forms.
It also is the most wasteful form for storing wealth.
It’s also the most risky way for storing wealth. The amount of hacks and scams are insane.
It, in its current form will never be a legal tender. Currency is about control for governments, to devalue or not, to prop up the economy, boosting it or easing it down when needed and crypto doesn’t provide that. So to use that wealth you’ll always need an exchange. A third party. Which, recent history has thought us, are very prone to abuse and regulation. they can be banned overnight. (China comes to mind)
It’s a solution. The question is for what. The popularity of it all is based on 2 things : greed and the fear of missing out. (which again boils down to greed)

What I mean to say is : this bullshit is of all times.
Just look back in recent history. A long string of wars and economic downturns. GEN Xers have everything you have and the wonderful 70s, 80s & 90s added to the mix. You know, the never ending Vietnam war, Afghanistan, iran, gulf wars, yugoslavia, kaukasus, latin america in flames and a lot of other bullshit.
Economics? Ad to present day woes the oil crisis, housing crisis of the 80s where 15% mortgage rates meant that yes, housing was cheap and no, nobody could pay the mortgage and that bullshit in the 90s which I cant remember by name. And the dot.com burst of the 00’s.
We all want it to stop. Like forever. But you know the line :
