Edit: A little bit of context. I have a friend who is Russian and every year travels back there for a couple of week to see to her 80 year old mothers needs.

The Russians are not some poor oppressed people who were dragged to war against their wishes. They are overwhelming in support of Putin and everything he has done. (up to now at least). They are the Russian equivalent of maga. They drank the koolaid and only now when things are going bad do they regret it. If the war turns back in their favor with will be out cheering in the streets. I have zero pity for these people.

Really what happened is he restarted the war and almost lost a destroyer. Also Iran still says they aren’t talking to the USA. It’s just another pump and dump for the stock market.

Also, I know a Russian immigrant who regularly travels back there to visit her family. She flies through turkey with a suitcase full of money and western goods without any problems. Money is flowing into Russian like a river.
