  • Might’ve just been the glass slipper my hands needed then. Felt like a peak optimization of the sony layout, least in my mitts.

I know several folks who prefer the offset Xbox style, but I always appreciated the more symmetrical design of PlayStation. Thumbs were same height on controller for FPS or fighting genres, which I did a bunch of back then. Didn’t mind offset thumbs for other games like God of War. I think the designer in me also appreciated sony’s cleaner aesthetic as well.

  • Fully, a MASSIVE amount of what I’m into now came from Tony Hawk games and [adult swim] and the trajectory that put me on. [adult swim] was for sure the MTV of my generation.

By the time I was watching MTV, it was still some TRL and music vids, but also a big dose of Room Raiders, etc… And it eventually fell out of fashion. [AS] definitely had their finger on the pulse of what the cool cats were to tho. Such a hip scene. I still vividly recall a bump for Boondocks featuring Flying Lotus’ song Massage Situation that felt mind blowing.

Weird to think where I’d be without either.

  • Such a childish take expecting AAA speed from tiny homebrew dev teams imo. Obviously progress is going to come slower in most instances, they don’t have a tiny island nation’s worth of man power to throw. That and, I’m sorry, if my homebrew passion project blows up stupid big when I go for early access for seed money / water testing, I promise you I will be taking time off to celebrate the accomplishment.

This shit is a grind. Lots of dedication over a long period of time. Go on, hit that resort life for a minute, you earned it. Come back and finish up when you get some r&r. 🤙

Obviously still expecting progress down the line, but if I’m supporting early access I know what I’m getting into. Indie scene is where the love is, but it’s ma & pa shit. Plus there’s thousands of other ways to waste my time, I’ll check back in later if I’m bored with the game’s current build.

Waiting sucks, but chill. Save outrage for where it really matters, like genuinely shitty devs. Juuust my pocket change. 🙌

  • I’m flummoxed for sure. I need a computer to be a bit of a power house, ideally well equipped for music production software and live performance, DJ software, graphic design/animation/illustration, and at least for the desktop gaming. Been in the market for a laptop so I can take at least the music & design production on the go, but damn I hate laptop shopping.

Unsuuuure if Linux is compatible with the graphic/music production software I’m working with, or if there are viable work arounds. Windows 11 looks like a dumpster fire I do not wish to support. I’d really like to avoid Apple as I have my own grievances there too. Windows 10 obviously seems on the way out.

Long story long, feeling a bit lost on how best to proceed. If anyone uses Linux for similar creative endeavors, would love to hear your roses and thorns on the matter. Certainly open to recommendations for a sturdy war horse of a lappy as well.

Hot take but hasn’t been a problem for me. Like, the feature stays off until I turn it on again, and I only turn it on when I’m trying to expand a playlist.

I use Spotify for discovering new songs, mostly for adding to the DJ arsenal. I listen to a lot of music. Enough that I make like 15-20ish playlists a year for various subgenres of tunes either released or discovered that year.

Since I compartmentalize my genres so methodically, smart recommendations tend to be on the money and more of what I’m looking for. But again, when I just wanna hear what I’ve assembled I just leave it off – never on unless I turn it on.

Definitely been eyeballing alternatives though, since Spotty is getting deeper into their enshitty arc.
