Never got the breakfast, or…?
The kind of monster who toasts my toast on the lowest setting, but still uses a full coat of butter.
Indeed, as an American I feel it would only be exaggeration if the whole face of the toast was covered in so much butter that it’s white.
No, we’re talking America here. That’s not nearly enough butter. It needs to cover basically the whole face of the toast.
I don’t think it can really infect them if they didn’t know about the crime until recently. That being said, I understand your concern. Christians are meant to be built different, though. Jesus was a friend of sinners. We’re not assumed to be corrupted because we hung around someone who was corrupt.
The way my church’s denomination does it, when a pastor steps down, they pull in a new pastor from another church, which also alleviates this concern. I say this not to defend Gateway Church (their new pastor is the old pastor’s son,) but to demonstrate that not all churches have the problems you hear about.
It’s not just about good vs evil. It’s about love and forgiveness. That’s not to say pedophiles should get off scot free, because it’s also wisdom - it’s very unwise to keep a pedophile in a position where they have access to kids like that.
But I digress. If the org is imploded, all the churchgoers will have to find a new church, and many won’t bother. Unless the church has serious theological issues (which just about no church would think they do,) that wouldn’t be good. Instead, it’s possible to remove the bad apple and replace them with someone else. The way my church’s denomination does it, whenever a pastor steps down, the new pastor comes from another church, which helps to make sure there isn’t lasting corruption. From what I read about this one, the new pastor is the old pastor’s son, so…
Looks like, based off a quick Wikipedia skim:
What do you expect, the church to completely dissolve? I wouldn’t be surprised if this church had some serious theological issues given its association with Trump, but one pastor, even the lead pastor, doing an evil doesn’t mean the whole church is faulty.
They stayed out of the conflict, so we named that flu after them.
If they can downscale enough, they should be able to pass this test.
Yeah, I learned that too. I had come up with a villain later on who had a very defense/counterattack focused stationary fighting style combined with sundering armor, and I thought I could make him a big threat, but then he ended up completely flopping because there just wasn’t support for building that style and making it strong. Now I’m playing looser, and stealing lair actions from D&D (minus the lair part most of the time) to make my loner villains work.
I think the difference is being transparent about it. This is saying “I know that shouldn’t hit, but I’m saying it hits anyways.” Traditional fudging is “That… hits, yeah, totally.”
Yeah, I’m not big on fudging rolls, but that’s one thing I will do. In my last campaign, I had statted up the first real villain for my players to fight, and they knocked him out in one punch. I would have made him one level higher, but then his own attacks would have been strong enough to one-shot some of the players. Level 1 woes.
If my players need plot armor, they can spend their hero points on it.
What were they supposed to do? Not dig? The story was rigged against dwarves from the start.
Adding this to my mental notes.
Unfortunately, someone once said the phrase “human filth” within a 500 ft range of the artifact and it never forgot.
True story, I used to do this with a slider order I requested at the gas station every day. When they got it wrong, that was just adding some variety, which was good to me.
