Ohhhh, I thought comment OP was just racist against Klingons.

For a heavily constrained system like a car’s shock absorbers, couldn’t permanent magnets be used instead of electromagnets?
You really don’t. Toilet paper does the job for 90+% of people, at least in the US.
There are plastics that aren’t oil derived. Some of them are even compostable in an industrial setting.
Does calling Netanyahu ‘Bibi’ put a bad taste in anyone else’s mouth? I know people are trying to emasculate him a lot of the time, but it feels like calling Hitler ‘Addy’.
See, I’d much rather just occasionally have to skip a song than listen to an AI mispronouncing band names.
If something is marketed as “unlimited”, I don’t think there is such a thing as “wildly excessive use”. This isn’t a competitive eater going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and being mad about getting kicked out. It’s a business using a service in a way that’s seemingly in-line with what they paid for.
Yeah, I recently found a post there where a person wanted to modify a downloaded mesh. The first comment was telling them they would need years of experience to do it well. The OP responded that they had figured out a solution that they were happy with, to which someone told him that his results were shitty and then explained a way to do it better. When the OP got upset at this back to back dismissal, everyone unanimously decided they were an asshole.
I install it every time I reinstall Windows. It’s not like the native music player is any better than this program that hasn’t been updated in 10 years.
I tried to switch my primary search engine on Firefox to DDG yesterday when I heard the news. 3 searches later, I switched back. I don’t like Google, but damned if I’m not used to it.
No, we’re downvoting because they’re seemingly pro-AI at all.
But nobody should want AI powered anything.
I’m not saying it was a good thing to do, but once you have that idea, it becomes an irresistible temptation. The 9/11 one, although I guess it might be true of the other one, too.
Yeah, judging by the fact that I’m not seeing an @ on their profile, they’re a lemmy.world user, like me.
Sometimes things are more nuanced than “bad thing is bad”. We have thousands of years of history underpinning this conversation, and for most of that time, women were treated like dirt. It is healthy, natural, and human for an underclass to harbor fear and resentment toward its oppressor class. And if the way that is expressed is twitter memes, so be it.
Yes it is! Being robbed or mugged is definitely less traumatic than being raped! Murder is arguable, but it’s hard to be traumatized when you’re dead. You need to understand that it is okay for marginalized groups (women) to “punch up” at more societally powerful groups (men). You don’t judge the nerds at school for talking shit about their bullies.
Misandry is as much of a problem as racism against white people. That is to say, it isn’t one. People are punching up or punching sideways, which is fine. It’s how you make positively inflammatory political statements.
And bears are fuckin tight! Who wouldn’t want to hang out with one?
Unequivocally no.
