I’d disagree. The world powers are more at risk of direct conflict than the founding empires hoped. Nationalism, militarism, and capitalism induced pain make major wars that fuck shit up more likely.

That rhetoric has always pissed me off for the same reasons as Americans not understanding why fascism took Europe in the 30s. Nowhere is special and nobody should think “it won’t happen here.”

The US is impossible to invade. Trump dying is the only way out, no elections or help from outside. We either wait this shit out by staying alive, or risk dying if you want to do something to improve things. It’s why Democratic politicians aren’t putting up a meaningful fight; they’re scared.
