I’m shocked at what an unpopular thought this is. Like… If you go out in public, there’s a very real risk that people in public will see you. If that’s a concern you have, then you should take steps to not be seen in public. To me, that would mean not making my presence obvious when visiting a bar.
Camera or not, if people are looking for you, they will find ways to look for you in public places. You should always assume you’re being watched, because you probably already are.

I remember that marketing campaign. Windows Vista had a shaky launch, because the hardware manufacturers hadn’t polished the Vista-compatible drivers yet. 6 months later, they had caught up, but people still had a bad taste from it.
So when service pack 1 came out, Microsoft made a reskinned version of it and started an ad campaign with “customers” claiming “Windows 7 was my idea!” and the public ate it up.
Perhaps this will be unpopular, but it was all Raul Julia. He definitely out-Gomezed John Astin, but Carolyn Jones was something else.
I don’t mean to sleight Anjelica Huston, but it would be difficult to fail working opposite Raul, and Carolyn Jones was frequently the one carrying John Astin in the series.
Not to speak ill of Astin either, because he was good, but he played it differently
I have such bad things to say about recruiters. They generally don’t have a clue about any of the skills related to the jobs I’m after, and they take a huge cut of the pay the entire time I’m working the job.
On the other hand, the two best jobs (highest pay and best working environment) I’ve had in my career, I got through recruiters, so I acknowledge them as a useful business when it works out. The last one has led to the company buying my contract and hiring me directly for the past 12 years
I’m not saying fan theories aren’t allowed, I just said I’m not a fan of it.
I would hardly call their outings “secret” when it involves Kira getting into costume and walking clear across the promenade before deciding the holosuite isn’t for her. I just didn’t interpret any of the details as “hints they were dating” when the simpler “friends going out to do something fun” was not only on the table, it was clearly the intention of the scene.
For the record, I didn’t see Garak and Julian as dating either. Sure, Garak may have been trying, but Julian was more enamored with the spy scenario and intrigue than Garak himself as a potential partner
Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of the tendency to interpret platonic relationships as sexual ones. I do get the desire for more representation, but I just wish the community wasn’t so willing to ignore regular old platonic friendships.
I’m sure that comes mostly from me as a guy who puts more emphasis on strong platonic bonds than sexual relationships. But I just don’t see Julian and O’Brien’s “bromance” as a boyfriend relationship, nor did I see Kira and Jadzia’s as dating either.

There’s a few times they get racial, but it does manage to stay pretty tame about it all.
When they are showing the newscasters around the world, it certainly skirts the line, but doesn’t cross it. Much like the fellows speaking “jive”, they pull it off without turning the black men themselves into the joke.

Not quite this, but I did have a validation team that didn’t know when to quit.
The project was a Windows service, and they would be constantly opening bugs saying “program crashes when we deleted xxxxx.dll”
Like… Yeah. If you delete necessary libraries from the installation directory, the program won’t run correctly.
While Calvin in a Crowder meme is better than Crowder in a Crowder meme, maybe we just don’t use a Crowder meme at all?

I was laid off this year. I’m a 25 year veteran programmer, and not to brag in the sea of tech folks we have here, but I am rather proud of my skills I have picked up over the years.
My first interview this year, they set up an online development environment and had me solve a fairly simple array sort problem, and I completely choked. Something about being watched and judged while I worked broke my brain.
I managed to ace my next interview, but they didn’t bother with the programming exercise at all.
And neither of those are the one I was thinking of, which was Power Play from season 5. It involved condemned aliens posing as the dead crew of a Federation starship.

Data went rogue in Brothers, and hijacked the whole ship to go get an upgrade that Lore stole. Near as I can tell, they took no precautions to prevent it happening again, since Soong was surely actually dead this time
In the 90s, the local Taco Bells in Portland had a menu item called “Mexi-nuggets” which were a Mexican spiced tater tot. In the combo meals, they filled the role of fries like you get in your burger combo (like the two tacos and Mexi-nugget combo)
I was quite surprised to find out the stores in Washington didn’t sell them, and instead of Mexi-nuggets, the combos just had… Another taco.
They were delicious, and I still think about them
I mean it should be fairly obvious, but sometimes a person is at home while browsing, and might like to see these. Other times they are at work while browsing and could actually get into trouble for viewing them
