I agree wholeheartedly and I also signed late while being Finnish.

From what I’ve gathered here and elsewhere they never really went full throttle on all that stuff for most of us here in the EU.
Now don’t get me wrong, W11 is utter shite, and I had to essentially build a new computer from scratch to even get it running properly, but I still haven’t seen any ads or any other bullshit like that.
This is exactly why my old computer is merrily running Mint, and it likes it.
Edit: If it wasn’t for the fact that I happen to primarily use Cinema 4D for work I wouldn’t even have bothered, probably. Relearning 20+ years of software flow for the other options seemed silly at the time, but I would’ve reconsidered had I known what a mess W11 would become for me and in general.
More disappointed than surprised but still…
Jfc.
I sure as fuck will complain about it. Not only that but I’ll actively fight it in any way I can. Masking up in public and never entering corporate hellholes is a good start. 2020 made it a lot easier.
Why you accept such conditions are beyond me except that they probably involve you getting paid for it and think that makes it worth it. Fuck that. It’s serfdom with a fancy title.
Ah, so it’s all fun and games as long as you’re the one watching. Who watches you?
No, apparently it’s even worse; woke!
:DDDD
The most interesting part of that chart in my opinion is that they seem to have 16 persons in prison for unknown reasons. I’m assuming there are some sort of national security involved or perhaps crimes of such a weird nature they have no definition for it. In that case though, what the hell did the last 10 persons do? :D
…and you’re okay with being recorded all day long, just like that?
If there’s any religion I had to adhere to it would probably be Buddhism, which I don’t, really, except for the whole “we’re born, we suffer and then we die” viewpoint. In that specific case it would only lead to more, albeit different suffering.
Unless you’ve experienced daily pain on the side of 5+ for over a decade straight I don’t really give a shit about what you think though, especially if it is because of some religious belief.
I have a few regrets, but no unfinished business I care that much about. If he wasn’t already an alcoholic wreck I’d beat the shit out of my abusive asshole of an excuse for a father but that’s about it.
As a counterargument I’d like to point out that when there’s enough pain present you might just want to tap out.
Especially now since one of the lovely American corporations decided to fuck up pain medication for those that truly needs it for decades at the minimum, because they just had to get that fucking profit.
I’m not even American and I’m on about a third of what I theoretically should be. My doctors admit this, but anything more and there’s a risk of malpractice bullshit.
Hence, pain. Fuck that. I’ll tap out when enough is enough.
It’s not only the US that got hit by that russian campaign to mess with youths and even younger children. Europe for its fair share as well. It also plays into their “oh look at the degenerate west” playbook perfectly.
They’re responsible for so much damage that I have no idea how it’ll end. Not even children with tech savvy parents are immune, as I can attest to myself.
It’s important as fuck to have discussions about bad content to children ass soon as they get any kind of screen available to them, and it should never ever be a babysitter unless it’s under controlled circumstances.
It’s also a good idea to start teaching your children how any tech they use works and what happens under the hood if they’re interested. They’re certainly less likely to get influenced by any bad actors if they know what’s what.
The only jobs I’ve ever had were teaching and nursing, both paid by the country I live in, not some private entity. I don’t even own a car or a TV, nor do I live in the US for that matter.
Get your head out of your ass and realise there’s more to life than fucking money. I was born poor and will die poor, but I don’t give a shit because I at least know I helped some people along the way.
Jfc, the bubble some live in. You should be ashamed of yourself, but I guess you’re not even capable of that, are ya?
Your whole series of posts in this thread are seriously unhinged. Are you trying to cosplay a corpo bootlicker or something?
It’s either that or you’ve been born wealthy enough to never have to think about the money you spend.
I don’t know where you live, but I do know there’ll probably be a second front in this particular war in a not too far into the future. I have the feeling that the news channels in the US perhaps leave out some of what is happening in the Baltic sea, for example.
Or the fact that we’ve been preparing to go fuck them up for the past few years. The rest of Europe is starting to wake up as well. Nobody wants to be next.
Thank you for this, valuable info right there.
Ugh. Typical corporate bullshit.
Please tell me you’re joking. I was just beginning to like some of the discord communities I’ve joined over the years.
Fuck that guy, seriously. Activision already ruined WoW, which I sincerely liked a lot for a very long time.
I’ve done a few courses and learned the basics, but it wasn’t until I started using some assistance that I got a deeper understanding of Python in general.
I came in very late, obviously, but I’ve still tried to learn coding on and off by myself since the late 90’s, although I ended up on another career path altogether. I’m in my 40’s and I’ve finally at least made some decent executable code.
Made myself a scalable clock since my eyes are failing, for example. It was a success and I use it daily. Would never have figured that out without some AI help. Still had to do some registry tweaking and shit since I’m stuck on windows on my workstation but it works wonderfully. Just a little widget but it improved my life greatly.
I’ve also cobbled together a workable alternative to notepad that I use as a diary of sorts. Never would’ve figured that out alone either.
As I see it at least whatever AI assistant you use at least doesn’t give one the gatekeeping or abuse one gets if they ask a relatively simple question somewhere else. Kinda like this, I guess.
TL;DR: In some situations our current 'AI’s can be helpful.
I live in Finland using Android on a Nokia and I can switch Gemini off completely and choose to use the old Google Assistant instead. It did initially appear out of nowhere when they patched it in, but I could immediately turn it off with the same prompt that the other guy also got.
If it’s unavoidable it seems to be an US only thing atm.
