As opposed to the current time of surplus and abundance where it is if “you don’t work you don’t eat”. Which is morally a lot worse considering there is more than enough food to feed everyone

If it’s removable you can much more easily recycle it though. Sustainably that is much much better than average phones.
However, while more sustainable than current it is not the most sustainable if you charge it like that

World News@lemmy.world•Denmark raises retirement age to 70 — the highest in EuropeEnglish
38·1 年前if you health is bad there are special programs for that.
Hate that, work until you’re 70 and too old to enjoy retirement. Or work until you’re so sick you can’t and then you don’t get to enjoy retirement.
A system designed to ensure you work until your labor has no value. Squeezing for everything you’re worth

4·1 年前I bring my phone. I likely won’t be breaking any laws, and I can afford a lawyer. So yeah arrest me and waste the system’s time. Just another data point they have to sort.
And if it gets to the point where none of that matters we were cooked anyway

Maybe it would be wise for an instance to incorporate as a non-profit of some kind. I believe a designation exists for “social clubs”.
That way there’s less pressure on admins and less worry of facing personal consequences if someone posts something illegal on their instance since then the LLC or local equivalent would be liable.
I doubt an instance would ever have the funds but it could even theoretically allow for a paid admin.
I know it sounds like we’re reinventing the “big” internet again, but i don’t see it being an issue. I don’t see a world where lemmy could generate that level of profit. In this case an LLC would be about gaining legal protections only
For the lower end calculating it as minimum wage it’s the equivalent of $5,800.
Not a bad deal, but quite expensive still
Is it a good price though? The average wage for a commoner is 2 sp per day. The equivalent to 100 days wages for a unskilled worker.
Skilled workers earn about 2 gp per day. So this represents 10 days wages. A better bargain for sure.
Adventurers are always loaded with money, so as players our view is skewed.
The solution is to cut them into smaller pieces
It’s kinda a game flaw. Combat is usually encouraged by most modules, and fleeing is typically a bad option mechanically. So what else do players do?
The only solution is to make running the painfully obvious choice

I don’t know choosing to not feed people when there is enough food to feed everyone seems a lot worse than choosing which people to not feed during a time of famine.
Obviously more people die from the famine, but at least that’s due to a lack of resources and not a manufactured scarcity
