Anything comparable in terms of technology that is non-portable usually outperforms their portable counterpart by a lot.

That’s also true for a Switch which consumes up to 20W (while docked and not running on battery), whilst a PS5/XBOX uses up to 350W.

There is absolutely 0 chance that the Switch has better performance unless it’s technology is somehow 18 times more advanced, which is impossible in the span of only 5 years.

And if someone says But it has similar performance… Yeah maybe for 5-10 minutes until it overheats or the battery is empty (that’s also the reason why “Gaming” notebooks will always suck) or because the game running there was better optimized for it.

1. After reading the report: To me this sounds not really credible. Stabilising and aiming a quadcopter outside is difficult and doing that with a weapon a dozen meters away pointing at a child is even harder. And why just target children with it? The group of persons that will likely get you into very bad publicity? The whole report is also based on 5 alleged cases (in one case the kid was run over by a car?). There is also no image of a CT scan, photographic evidence of a quadcopter with a gun or other evidence anywhere in the report. I think that it’s more likely these have been “normal” deaths and a quadcopter was only present in the area.

At first: A single user complained.

Second: What is Transparent Secure Memory Encryption?

Defense against physical attacks (e.g. stealing memory data through PCIe interface).

Protection against cold boot attacks (extracting unencrypted sensitive information from memory).

What’s the use case here for a normal user? Somebody must physically try to read your RAM while you sit next to your PC and if this is the case your entire on-site security is already completely compromised.

Also encrypting RAM the entire time - even though you totally don’t need it - will likely cause a performance impact.

And to top it all off that feature was NEVER official supported in AMD consumer CPUs.
