Fun anecdote - yesterday my new phone overheard me say something about rescheduling a vacation day. It then proceeded to add a “Vacation” booking on a completely random day.

Naturally I asked it what the fuck it was doing, and demanded it remove its permissions to edit my calendar. It quickly apologized, then assured me it had removed its capability to edit my calendar. I told it to not lie to my fucking face, realizing it could not in fact update its own permissions. It apologized again, presumably for being a pathological liar / asshole.

Then I disabled Gemini on my phone, and won’t be using it again. Thanks google!

In my experience, most people definitely don’t consume tobacco with marijuana. Some people smoke on the side, but mixing is quite uncommon in western Canada.

That being said, I am definitely highly addicted. I think anyone with chronic pain, trauma, or mental health disorders or probably at a higher risk. Not to mention the risk of psychosis for a very small portion of people.

I don’t like windows, but I’ve been using various distros on and off for 15 years and it was absolutely never painless. Nvidia drivers still barely work for me (although admittedly they are shit on windows too). Making my computer wake from sleep is the stuff of nightmares. Integrated laptop webcam? No way in hell.

The only thing I give Linux a top score in is compatibility with my audio interface.

The worst part about the comment summaries is that bots are using the summary to come up with incredibly generic comments, which are then liked and give them high visibility. You can tell who they are due to the suggestive photo, and the 50% chance of nudity in their profile, and the 100% chance of that profile containing a link to a cam site (that will presumably scam you in some way). If you watch new, popular videos, there is almost certainly a porn bot in the comments. YouTube doesn’t seem to give a shit either, considering that it seems like at least half of these accounts are using the same profile image.
