Just use vscode. It’s basically the standard text editor for everything nowadays. Eventually you may want to start exploring vim/emacs but no reason to prioritise that now when all you need is something you can write code in that gives you squigglies when you do something wrong.

Is that still being recommended? Last I heard it was eol, no longer getting feature changes or improvements and was basically superceded by vscode.

Funny, literally just found out today reddit is now only indexable by google. They have paid partnerships. So that specific feature (which I also make heavy use of) will continue to work but not on duck duck go or other engines. I’m gonna start appending lemmy instead of reddit and maybe just ditch google altogether. Search results have been pretty bad all round for quite a while.

This is neat, but I’m still waiting for pkpass support. It’s so annoying apple has a standard format for passes and google doesn’t and also doesn’t bother to support them even though their more widely used.

I’m still amazed judges are so clearly divided into groups. I consider being a judge to require a degree of impartiality and authority that anyone clearly identifying as democratic or republican should be disqualified for. Honestly, too much content not enough time. That and I think a lot of what’s available now isn’t as good as it used to be (I realise that’s probably nostalgia more than anything else). I read manga a lot more now. I find it easier to do, and it generally gets to the point a lot quicker than anime. There’s also a lot more great manga than there is great anime simply because it’s cheaper to make and distribute and less prone to padding things out to reach a predefined length. Vagabond for example would be the best anime ever… if any studio could adapt it. I watch more western live action stuff, it’s cookie cutter at times but easier to consume while focusing on other things (since it’s English, Japanese anime I need to actively focus on subs (I wont dignify dubbed with a mention XD)). I used to watch j-dramas but dropped that now as well as I find it hard to find stuff that interests me. I’ve watched a couple k-dramas just cause I find them a refreshing change of pace.

I will say now I’m an adult its really hard to find the time to just stop and watch things. I legit miss burning through all my afternoons watching naruto and the chunin exam or the pain arc. That sh*t defined my childhood and I’ll always love it, even if I’m not liable to do it again soon.

Is the issue their censoring content globally or just at all. Twitter for example is known to cave to local governmental pressure but I suppose its limited to a particular region and people outside of there are still allowed access. Really I’m more disturbed anyone is careless enough to rely on social media for news. It’s no secret their all just regurgitating what they or the platform owners want. Most youtubers actively avoid controversial content just to avoid demonitisation; if youre on a platform like truth social id be surprised if you ever get an impartial voice. I literally only scroll tiktok for cute and funny vids.

Last July, the U.N. adopted a resolution condemning Quran burning, calling attacks on the Muslim holy book “religious hatred.” The same month the U.N. General Assembly passed a resolution that deplores all acts of violence against holy books as a violation of international law.

Holy books shouldn’t be protected as some sort of sacred existence especially not globally. Religions should be scrutinised at all levels, putting any religious relic on a pedestal and enshrining protections that seem less focused on protecting followers of that religion and more on the idea of it is absurd. What’s next you can’t call scientology a cult because it hurts people’s feelings.

I just don’t really see the cause and affect between apple prompting you and suddenly firefox uptick. Day one after they violated the last cease fire to attack a bunch of festival goers? Hamas is looking for time to plan the next attack. Pretending otherwise is just ignoring history. Israel is full on genocide mode atm but you don’t seriously think hamas want a ceasefire so they can de-escalate the conflict and eventually open the door to more diplomacy to eventually reach a 2 state solution that avoids any ongoing suffering. Its easy to ask for peace after you stab someone in the chest. It’s hard not to stab them to begin with and seek a peaceful and amicable resolution to existing hostilities.
