It was honestly pretty packed with stuff. It’s been one of the better ones in a long time.

That’s a good point that they gave such a meaty (Lanz wants something meatier!) trailer a year out. Thats how you know it’s coming along nicely AND there’s way more story to tell than what they’ve shown.

Until I know differently, I have this feeling like this world is one that could have been “seeded” by another ship from earth and just evolved differently.
But I have zero evidence of that. I just assume there will be some sort of tie into the other games.
However, these characters are just humans and elves and there are zero Nopon in this trailer (but there was a short cat character shown in one split second). Could very well be totally different. And that’s fine, too.
It is hard to think about a game that doesn’t have Mio and Noah in the crew, though. They are so good I wonder how I can even be as in love with any new characters as I was with them. I’m not worried, really. But XC3 was like the mountaintop, and now we are starting all fresh so I just don’t know yet. It’s going to be great, though.

Yeah I expect maybe the first chapter or two to be set at this school and then something kicks off the journey to deal with this “god” they mention. AND EVEN THEN there could be a twist.

Time to get better friends, of course.

Sothis showing up at the end is cool and unexpected (by me). So this seems like it’ll be after Three Houses.

Yeah, it’s awesome, honestly. I agree people should check it out.

“Texas hurt itself in its confusion.”

My friends and I like to play these types of games together since they are really just big movies. And passing the controller around is fun since really it’s just making some quick and simple-ish choices and everyone gets to be stressed out.

Best I can do is spin up 20 agents to barely get some basic functionality written.

Finish Control, then hit Alan Wake 2, then this.

“What rhymes with orange…?”
“uhh…door hinge?”
I still think about this sometimes.

Riding in that boat in the desert and being in that “time bubble” where there was only water around you is still one of the coolest things Zelda has done, I think. And the music in that spot was very good.
Of all the things in that game, I remember that area the most.

I loved WD2, and I purposefully never bought/got the lethal weapons if I could help it. You probably get a couple as a matter of course in the game (I don’t remember), but I always just used the stun gun or melee - though hitting someone with an 8-ball on a rope is probably going to do some damage.
I don’t think any game since has made it as fun to pilot a little drones like this game. I loved being able to casually sit outside and sneak into places with the drones.

I played this on PS5 at launch, and while I maybe hit a few bugs through the whole game, nothing was game-breaking for me. Maybe I got lucky, who knows.
But I also really enjoyed the game. I’m sad we probably won’t see these characters again any time soon.

They are certainly more expensive, but it’s a “buy once cry once” type of thing. You pay a little more but the box works SO MUCH better and for longer than the cheap junk that’ll show you a bunch of ads.
I have two of them at this point and zero regrets.

I definitely think it’s “linux brain” that exists around here to a degree. You can see it on any given thread that talks about…well…anything technical. “Just download Linux!” they’ll say. And I say this as someone who LIKES Linux. I have it on two of my pcs (and I have a Mac and iPhone/iPad, etc. as well). It’s great. But there’s a zealotry around here around it.
That said, it’s not hard to dislike Apple right now. I’m pretty mad at them for cozying up to trump all the time. I’m glad Cook will not be leading Apple soon (though I wish he’d just leave outright. He’ll still be at the company). But it’s hard to deny the hardware is great and the software is generally good and generally works well.
But Lemmy is certainly a niche population of nerds. And that’s fine! It’s great! But a lot of those nerds seem to love the “console wars”-type mentality of “MY thing is the best and anything else is bad.”

People love to hate Apple, and that’s fine (Tim Cook sucks ass), but the AppleTV is honestly the best streamer and you can’t change my mind.
Zero ads on the Home Screen, and even the first gen 4K box that came out 8 years ago is still fast as hell and getting updates.
I know this because I had one in my closet and just took it out the other day when setting up a TV in my bedroom. It downloaded updates and is now rocking and rolling again.
I just want them to take a few minutes and make an iPad app because the default app running on iPad sucks shit.
