  • I have read that article before. I agree with what it says. The name within itself makes an uncomfortable association that can possibly influence people into looking at the UAE in a positive light. If this chocolate was given an ethnically derived name, instead of being named after a city, people probably wouldn’t notice it. Being named after the city is makes the association so bad in my opinion. Most Westerners have a narrow minded understanding of the country where they forget it is a country. Dubai is just a single city. Being by association, connected to all this, makes me ashamed that someone of my ethnicity willing chose to work within whatever confines allowed for their participation. This isn’t a place many non-Emirates can freely travel to without something possibly putting their safety and dignity at risk as a Human.

    EDIT: I should clarify that my criticism is all with the government.
