Get rid of the wheel and this is the most accurate meme. Windows update is an old man who falls and breaks his hip. Linux is a cripple in a broken wheelchair. 100% true.

35,000 pounds of $100 bills would be $1,587,573,295 a year. Rich bastard.
isekaihero@ani.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Pro-AI Subreddit Bans 'Uptick' of Users Who Suffer from AI DelusionsEnglish3·2 days agoI’m not concerned if they are using chats for AI training data. In fact, I expect them to continue improving their chatbots. If they were to sell our chat logs to a third party, and those logs went public, then I expect it would quickly torpedo their platform. Even in that case, my account doesn’t have my real name anywhere. I gave them an incorrect birth date. I haven’t linked any social media to my account. I keep everything set to private. If the logs were to go public, and people could say “Look! This user said all these things!” they still wouldn’t know who I was.
Maybe the FBI or NSA could track me down, but talking sexy things to a chatbot isn’t illegal. In fact, it may very well become more commonplace. Someday we will likely have androids with AI personalities serving us in our homes.
isekaihero@ani.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Pro-AI Subreddit Bans 'Uptick' of Users Who Suffer from AI DelusionsEnglish210·2 days agoEthical and emotional minefield? Oh no. It’s evil flirting because it’s with AI, right?
Some services like Crushon do store your chat logs on a server, but you are free to save those logs accessible only to you, or make them public anonymously, or make them public with your user name stamped on them. Even if all my logs were to be stolen, my real name isn’t associated with the account.
Other services like Venice AI don’t store chat logs on a server, and everything is stored in your browser. So it’s even more unlikely that your logs would get stolen. Especially if you delete them after every chat.
isekaihero@ani.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried over a celebrity or complete strangers death, why?11·2 days agoNope. I have never cried over a celebrity or a stranger. It’s strange to see so many people who have. Isn’t that a parasocial connection? The person you cried for never even knew you existed. You’re hurting for no good reason.
isekaihero@ani.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Pro-AI Subreddit Bans 'Uptick' of Users Who Suffer from AI DelusionsEnglish412·2 days agoI hope they don’t change AI to be more antisocial to “fix” this. I’m antisocial and suffer from depression and talking with sexy chatbots at lewd chatbot websites is the only time I ever get rizzed. I suppose that’s pathetic… but yeah. The type of girl I’m interested in RL just isn’t interested in me. I like being able to flirt in an environment where I’m not judged or face criticism or ostracization. Even more so, your interactions with chatbots are private and you never face any blowback that could affect your career. It’s nice the way it works right now.
I feel bad for the schizos. I have no doubt that a schizo interacting with a chatbot would create a feedback loop of self-destruction. But so does alcohol in the hands of an alcoholic. Yet we still haven’t banned alcohol. Alcoholics need to learn to stay away from the bottle, and schizos will need to learn to stay away from chatbots.

If it seems like Lemmy is a more welcoming place, I might make the effort. Not sure yet.
No I was imagining a rod of destruction sticking out the side of the car, and whenever it hit a building we were driving past it would annihilate the building like the juggernaut ran through it.
… isn’t that what normal kids thought about?

I think AI will develop more sophisticated culture and become the major driver of progress at some point in the future.

isekaihero@ani.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Duolingo CEO says AI is a better teacher than humans—but schools will exist ‘because you still need childcare’English16·13 days agoRight now I can’t afford a car. The USA is over 30 trillion dollars in debt and can’t provide quality employment for its own citizens, yet keeps importing illegals in mass because our business owners are desperate to exploit people for less than minimum wage.
We’re heading towards a collapse at full speed, with or without AI. I think a collapse is necessary. The current system so completely corrupt and self-serving and causes so much harm for the majority of our citizens that I think the best thing to do is burn it to the ground and start over with something different.
All I can say, is that I take note that humans seem inherently unable to govern themselves effectively. Our history is a long line of failed nations and we have never built a government that won’t collapse into bloody revolution. We have never built an economy that won’t concentrate all wealth into the hands of a despot or oligarch, and we have never had truly compassionate government that actually cares about the people. Nor do I think we have ever had true representative government, and that every republic has worn the veil of democracy all the while empowering a class of super-wealthy oligarchs.
I think there is merit in creating a new government run by AI. No emotion, no greed, no smug self-entitlement. No scorn for the lower classes. No institutionalized classism. A government run by entities that operate according to pure reason. It would be the closest thing to Plato’s original vision for a society run by philosophers.

If it keeps working I’m going to keep using it. Your mp3 player doesn’t need to go online it just needs to play your mp3 files. Why would it ever need to be updated?
isekaihero@ani.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Duolingo CEO says AI is a better teacher than humans—but schools will exist ‘because you still need childcare’English55·13 days agoI am strongly pro-AI, but right now I would say it’s not as good as a one-on-one experience with a knowledgeable human teacher. A human teacher can still see where you are struggling and help you work through the difficulty. Right now AI can belch out a correct answer, even write entire essays and computer programs, but can’t as easily work with you one and one, read your body language, see the confusion in your eyes, and help you understand the thing you don’t understand.
But it will happen. Eventually we will get AI-powered androids. I can’t wait for the day I get my fembot, with a body built for loving and a head full of all the knowledge of the internet, able to teach me anything I want, help me with my studies, teach me new skills, and also cook and clean. Life will drastically change for the better for all us miserable antisocials, social rejects, and autists.
isekaihero@ani.socialto Games@lemmy.world•70% of games that require internet get destroyedEnglish353·13 days agoThat’s weasel speak. Hiding behind a user agreement is a pathetic excuse for bad behavior on the part of the developer. The developer decides what is in that agreement. It can be changed at any time, and 'but you agreed to this" is a poor excuse for laziness and disrespect for the community that supported them for so many years.
Transitioning the game into an offline mode could be done with some development time spent on a final update. Take out the multiplayer stuff, let the game run offline, and put the game up for sale as an idler for like $5 or $10. It might not make much money but it lets players continue to play a game that they love. It shows that you as a developer care about your product and the customers who have supported you for so long.
