Trying to spread the idea that humans need to evolve beyond our current stage based on mutual exploitation and learn to again live on this planet sustainably and without coercion.

for people who might genuinely be afraid of the idea of homosexuality, maybe even struggling with their own sexuality
seems like autohomophobia would be the right word.
Such a pathetic sad hateful stupid person he is.
Well ya, that’s the standard explanation, and probably the most likely to be right.
I like to wonder if there might be other explanations, or even multiple explanations. You’ve heard I’m sure of the quote like “never attribute to malice which can be adequately explained by stupidity”? I have my own version of that that goes something like this:
Never attribute an act to stupidity when a clear pattern of malice is apparent.
One perspective on this might be that Elon and friends have successfully identified a set of dubious advertisers and hate-tolerant userbase.
The first casualty of war is truth. We can trust Hamas as much or more than we can trust Israel. I’m not an expert, but I’d imagine we could find 100 instances of misinformation from Israel for every 1 from Hamas just from how much each group puts out.
I think it will be defeated by cultural change. It will come from enough people realizing that cooperation is a superior way to live vs mutual exploitation and defend themselves from those still trying living via exploitation.
He has the same stupid haircut I had when I was 7. About the same maturity level as well.
Imagine being screwed over by the U.S. for decades and now their puppet is genociding your brothers. Not everyone is ok with sitting and waiting their turn to be destroyed. I back the people, never the governments.
IMHO what is innate is a person’s capacity for empathy (the ability to understand that others have different feelings and to temporarily take their perspective for the purpose of understanding).
Empathy – is a type of intelligence
Sympathy – is an emotion
Compassion – is a behavior (based on an emotion)
Whether a person actually expresses the empathy they have capacity for depends on things like whether or not they’ve been the victim of abuse. For example, the character Scrooge is what I’d call a person with large capacity for empathy but had no sympathy (the sharing of feelings with others) and thus acted without compassion. He lacked empathy for some reason, in some versions due to childhood abuse (never read the actual Dickens version so idk). The ghosts that visited him showed him why he should have empathy and because he had the capacity to, he changed.
I don’t believe that every human has the same biological capacity for empathy. As a silly example, I don’t think that the former pres. of the U.S. could possibly become a compassionate person due to being visited by the ghosts of Christmas past/present/future.
This concept of capacity applies elsewhere too, for example, my brain has a certain biological capacity to understand mathematics, but due to lack of motivation and interest, I am not likely expressing my full potential mathematical prowess.
Note that I’m using kind of reversed definitions of sympathy and empathy vs some definitions I’ve seen online. My way makes more sense to me, since the word “sympathy” is used outside of psychology the way I use it.
A new word! Thank you!
I mean, it didn’t work before, it’s gotta work this time right!?
China is hostage state that nurtures Stockholm Syndrome in it’s population (similar to DPRK and others). You can only “leave” if it’s deemed useful and safe for China (i.e. you have Stockholm Syndrome strongly enough). And those that leave are still under control, i.e. their (edited) behavior can be coerced by using carrot and stick methods on their family and loved ones.
Yep, this word is used intentionally by Xi and he knows he means “conquer the nation developed by the people that escaped his predecessors”.
My eyes def rolled
since there’s never a time when the curtain is pulled back on it
In antiquity maybe, but in modern times with access to information – Adulthood, that’s when one should have the mental faculties to understand that organized religion is a scam.
It’s one thing to believe that there may be more than science can currently demonstrate or worlds we can’t access, it’s another to believe the stories organized religions are based on.
Just throwing some thoughts out there
