proton’s having a full on glowup
100% agree, i personally just don’t enjoy that background feeling that i have saying I’m doing this wrong and the stress i feel over having to get certain things done everyday. i already feel enough of that outside of videogames, I’d rather my time spent gaming to be an escape from the norm. Love the game, love the community, heck I play it semi-regularly, it’s just not my cup of tea, that’s all!
I really want to love this game. The artstyle is amazing, the music and sound effects are to die for, it’s truly magnificent. However, the gameplay seems too mechanic for me, like there’s no actual freedom to the game, you need to do these tasks on these days at these times or else you’re playing it wrong.
i don’t think this ai generated bullshit adds anything to the post
idgaf about graphics, give me a good experience and I’m hooked
everyone has their preferences, and maybe it could also have something to do with you being so used to the macOS ui that anything else feels weird or wrong in a way?
It’s living a naissance.
the fumes man the fumes
the younger generation is fed up with crappy cromebooks stuffed with even more spyware that they’re forced to use by their school.
haven’t laughed like that in ages thank you for that
why do we have to use porn for meme templates?
I thought title just said sh and not ssh i got really scared
Exactly my point, actually. It’s not that it’s harder to make malware for Linux, but as a desktop OS, there’s just a really small demand for it at this point in time. I don’t doubt that when and if Linux gets more mainstream (again, for the desktop) more malware will be produced for it, we’re actually already seeing an increase in malware.
But we’re also seeing a big change in package distribution for Desktop Linux, mainly with flatpak and more specifically flathub. We’re kind of leaving behind our baby stage and becoming more professional and secure when it comes to how software is distributed for our users.
I’m excited to see how our community grows and develops and how we handle challenges that only bigger operating systems have had to deal with.
In my opinion the windows way of doing it is very unsafe, especially for regular users (who mostly use windows) that don’t exactly know who’s trustworthy, and especially on such a mainstream OS that is much more vulnerable to malware.
Linux has it very well figured out with repositories, especially universal ones like flatpak. They’re much more secure and trustworthy. It has the benefits of a walled garden and the benefits of an open ecosystem.
uploading this to lemmy, are you?
I never mentioned google. And sure, xmpp exists but it’s dead and would be much better off if not for big tech giants
We just don’t want history repeating itself like what happened with xmpp. Do you really think facebook of all companies is joining the fediverse with good intentions? Do you really think they’re not trying to monopolize this?
yeah, no
