  • Lobbyists are people working on behalf of companies whose job is to meet up with politicians to discuss their issues. Typically that involves some back and forth that may or may not be considered bribery.

You want a law to protect your business? You go talk to lawmakers behind closed doors about how some laws are needed to better protect children and also data centers, and subtly let them know that maybe your company might have a job for them in the future.

Those lawmakers then go out and propose these laws and they sell the idea to other lawmakers who approve them for the children and datacenters.

  • I don’t think it’s really aimed at gamers though. It’s a tech demo for what their hardware can do. They say that it was run on a dedicated 5090 which means that to get the same result, you have to be running the game on a 5090 and have a second 5090 just for DLSS5.

This isn’t meant for consumers. It’s aimed at sectors of the market that want realtime gen AI processing of realtime footage, whether 3D generated or live action.

I think they’re purposely taking the backlash from the gaming community, which they obviously don’t care about anymore, to showcase the tech to a different market.

  • Yes, anything on the battlefield counts as a permanent.

I mean if you have a doubling amount of them, you need enough that you can lose 7 per turn and still recover. So you need at least 7 to begin with, and you could block forever.

The real flaw with the comic is that Emrakul has flying, so squirrels can’t block it anyway, unless you give them all flying.

Really though, it’s meant to be a game-winning card. It does so much that it’s very hard to survive and recover if it’s on the board.
