My wife works in a highschool and feels like you do, not so much fake but addicted and you have to put on a facade like if you are walking to class alone you should be on your phone pretending to be messaging someone or else you’ll feel awkward
The other day my wife asked me “what’s that pipe website you use to be able to watch YouTube videos” then I realized it was because she got blocked by YouTube haha

Anything that you can tell they don’t know much about but they still talk about it like if they know. I guess that’s more of a type of person that a subject but I don’t mind chatting people up about what they like most of the time
