That’s a fair point. The way they tolerate public drunkenness over there is genuinely shocking to my sensibilities. It’s not even a matter of tolerance, it’s a matter of ENFORCED goddamn inebriation. Like…can you imagine if they did a version of The Office, in Japan? Every episode would end with the whole cast going down to the bar and getting sloppy fuckin’ drunk. Funny for the first few episodes, but then it would just get sad.
